Trauma Counseling
Trauma is unfortunately a part of life. Whether you experience a major trauma like a car accident, abuse/neglect, the sudden death of a loved one, a violent criminal act or other trauma like bullying, repeated criticism, abandonment, etc we don’t escape this life without some traumatic wound. Living with trauma can often feel overwhelming with deep emotional pain, fear, confusion or post traumatic stress as symptoms.
Recovery from trauma is possible. Research has proven psychotherapy to be the most effective form of treatment for trauma. Most commonly, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) are used in treating trauma.
In these circumstances, the support, guidance, and assistance of a therapist is fundamental to healing from trauma.
